Snorkeling

Islamorada has a great selection of Coral Reefs that are easily accessible from our dock located at Pelican Cove Resort and Marina. The three reefs that we take our guests to are Hens and Chickens, Cheeca Rocks, and Alligator Reef lighthouse. These reefs are excellent for beginners or experienced snorkelers of all ages. They range in depth from 5 feet to 25 feet. When arriving at the reef you might be greeted by schools of sergeant majors, yellowtail snapper and Bermuda chub. Swimming around the Brain coral, Star coral and purple sea fans you will see colorful Parrot fish, Blue tang, angelfish and spadefish. You can view many different species of fish, too numerous to name them. Other marine life that you may encounter at the reef includes spotted eagle rays, moray eels, sea turtles, spiny lobster and an occasional nurse shark. You will be amazed at the marine life just waiting for you to view at the Coral Reefs.
